Southern Ocean County Idol Contest

Southern Ocean County Idol Contest audition dates announced by Rotary ClubHomes for Sale Ocean County NJ Karl Hess

The Rotary Clubs of southern Ocean County announced Wednesday that auditions will begin for the 2011 Southern Ocean Idol Contest, which is fashioned after the very popular American Idol television series. Students should check with their high school's main office for details and times of their auditions.

The contestants must be high school students and reside within the school districts of Central Regional, Lacey Township, Barnegat Township, Southern Regional or Pinelands Regional.

A non-refundable $10.00 registration fee is required.

First place prizes incluRotary Internationalde a $1,000 scholarship and free professional photo shoot.

Southern Ocean County Idol Contest is just one of many community events sponsored by Rotary International, which is an organization of service clubs known as Rotary Clubs located all over the world. The stated purpose of the organization is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. It is a secular organization open to all persons regardless of race, color, creed, gender, or political preference. There are 33,976 clubs and over 1.22 million members worldwide.

Rotary's best-known motto is "Service above Self", and its secondary motto is "They profit most who serve best".
