A California investor group led by Oaktree Capital Management LP has reached an agreement to buy Millennium Radio New Jersey, which besides New Jersey 101.5, includes Ocean Township-based WJLK-FM, 94.3, also called The Point, and WOBM-FM, 92.7; WOBM-AM, 1160/1310; and WCHR-FM, 105.7, also known as The Hawk, all of which are based in Berkeley.
New Jersey 101.5 is the top-rated station in the Monmouth and Ocean counties market, according the most recent ratings release by Arbitron. WOBM-FM and WJLK-FM are Nos. 5 and 7, respectively.
Over time, the Millennium stations likely will be operated by Townsquare Media, a broadcaster and an Oaktree investment, which also runs live events, owns 171 radio stations and companion websites in 36 small to midsize markets.
